When I was a kid, my family never had a dog; at least not that I can remember. Now, with two kids of my own, we got a dog a few years ago. Our dog has managed to work her way into sleeping in the house, and her privileges just seem to keep increasing.

I mean, I used to say she’d never climb into my truck without a carrier, but…you guessed it: I’ve long since eaten those words, and just Saturday she accompanied me and my wife to the dump. I love the dog, but I just don’t like her hairs/smell getting on the seats. And she’s too friendly—and too small (she’s a Jack Russell)— to be much of a guard dog either.

But back to creative thinking. I read of some Russians who had a creative way of using their dogs for a cheaper anti-theft application. Pretty interesting stuff. But now I must move onto other things. More tomorrow. Our washing machine is broken and now I have to go to the Laundromat to wash jeans.
